Privacy policy
What personal data we handle, why, and your rights over it.
Last updated June 2026Who we are
Happy Wallets (“we”, “us”) runs this comparison and guidance website for people running UK limited companies. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. To contact us, email support@happywallets.co.uk.
What we collect
- Information you give us directly — for example, an email address if you join our newsletter.
- Technical data your browser sends automatically, such as IP address, device and browser type.
- Usage data about how you interact with the site, where analytics are enabled.
- We do not ask for or store your financial details — any application happens on the provider’s own website.
How we use it
- To send the newsletter you asked for.
- To operate, secure and improve the site.
- To understand, in aggregate, which content is useful.
Legal bases
Under UK GDPR we rely on your consent (for marketing emails and any non-essential cookies) and our legitimate interests (running and securing the site). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Affiliate links and third parties
Some links are affiliate links. When you click one, the provider or its affiliate network may set a cookie so the referral is credited to us and we can be paid a commission. Those third parties process that data under their own privacy policies.
Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with the service providers that help us run the site (such as our email or hosting provider), and where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, and technical or usage data for no longer than we need it.
Your rights
- Ask for a copy of your data.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent or unsubscribe at any time.
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
Contact and complaints
To exercise any right or ask a question, email support@happywallets.co.uk. If you’re unhappy with our response, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
